You older game cats out there probably remember Myst. The CD-Rom adventure/art game came out in 1993, and at the time represented the cutting-edge in gaming: It was lush, detailed, beautiful and mysterious -- really like nothing else that had come before it.
According to Wikipedia (the source of all human knowledge), previously, remakes and ports of the game have been released for Microsoft Windows, Windows Mobile, Sega Saturn, PlayStation, Jaguar CD, AmigaOS, CD-i, 3DO, Nintendo DS, and the iPhone. Now there's a version coming out for the PlayStation Portable. Myst will be released on Thursday July 16th through the PlayStation Network. It's the same as the original, but will include the never-released New Rime Age.
I'm really curious what people who have never played Myst will think of the game. As much as I loved it back in the day, I doubt the contextless puzzles and nearly non-existent gameplay will translate all that well to current gamers -- the technical wonder of the game, I imagine, won't mean much to people who see much more impressive content every day. Have you played Myst? What do you think?
